The Saïd Foundation

Wafic Saïd is also the founder of the Saïd Foundation, a non-sectarian and non-political charity which works through education and in other ways to change lives for the better.

The Foundation believes in the power of education to transform lives, communities and societies for the better and in the value of building bridges across cultures. It has provided scholarships to around 2,000 students to study for undergraduate and graduate degrees as well as giving educational opportunities to around 200,000 Syrian refugee children, young people and their families.  Its most long-standing programme is its scholarships for outstanding individuals with leadership potential who will be drivers of positive change in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine.

The Foundation also works to support the humanitarian relief and development needs of Syrian people and improve the lives of disadvantaged children and adults in the Levant region.

It also promotes better health outcomes for people everywhere by supporting innovative and impactful projects at world-leading medical research institutions.
